Peta is out of control. First the whole fiasco with the sea kittens, and now intentionally producing superbowl commercials that they know will get banned, just to garner a little publicity? Honestly, skinny vegginazi granola chicks that reek of patchouli aren't all that hot -- and I'll gladly stop eating animals the day they afford humans the same courtesty -- but heck, the organization is just so needy I had to blog them and give them the attention they're so desperate for. Musical Pick of the Week
With net radio apparently saved (for the immediate future), I've been checking out the wonderful variety of stuff they have to offer. Though it's not in my normal style of music, I went with a recommendation from net-friend Connie Cohen. If you need something mood-setting, non-intrusive, but less boring that ambient/new age that you can write, code, drink, or have on as you just chill out in the dark with a drink and/or cigarette, you might want to check out ...

Literary Pick of the Week
Don't you hate it when several disparaging social groups all seem to agree that you need to be reading one particular book. Far too many people recommended this one to me, so I finally caved in and read "Kafka on the Shore." A thorougly enjoyable novel, and probably the best Oedipal interpretation since my personal favorite Robbe-Grillet's The Erasers.
Always looking to expand my horizons. If you've got a book, music, or site recommendation, feel free to send it on. I give props here and undying respect otherwise to all those who do, whether it floats my boat or not.
