The real-time, inane ramblings of a socially inept, 40-something, IT equivalent of a swiss army knife, blogger, podcaster, gamer, musician, wannabe novelist, movie nut, scifi fanboy, comic book afficionado, fledgling day trader, new media champion, and general cranky geek. Now updated hourly -- or better -- for your convenience and not intended to be interesting to anyone who doesn't know me personally (so don't bother pointing that out).
Tunage
To get the full experience, you really need to be jamming my kind of tunes as you read...

Network

Because I know you guys just can't get enough of me ... here's a list of other places
you can network with me around the Net. Some of them are much more complete that what you'll find
here these days. They're listed in order from most frequently used to least frequently used, if that helps.
 | Twitter | Art in 140 characters or less, submitted via mobile phone, updated in real-time, and completely obscure and unintelligble -- since for the most part you're only reading my half of a conversation. | | Digg | A collection of articles I found interesting enough to tag. Mostly dealing with gadgetry, tech industry news, science and space updates, and occasionally genre movie gossip. | | Flickr | My on-line photo album, again mostly updated in real time via cell phone. Not terribly interesting, since I don't actually GO anywhere these days, but gobs of adorable photos of the baby, if I do say so myself. By the way, I'm not actualy a photographer, which will become plainly obvious right away. | | Facebook | Typical social network site. I like it a bit better than MySpace since it has an open API and for the most part spam and pr0nbot free. | | Delicious | My link collection ... currently being updated from my old bookmark file at the rate of about five new entries (out of 3000 total) per day. You never know what you're going to find here. | | Tumblr | Snippet blogging ... mostly links, videos, and short quips I can't fit into a tweet | | Last.fm | My twisted mix of jazz, prog, blues, and metal, all available for streaming in one convenient location. | | Friendfeed | | | Myspace | Everybody and their brother has a MySpace account, so I feel I have to keep a presence here, though I rarely ever check it these days except to get band schedules and such. | | Indianapolis Podcasters | A social networking site and resource exchange for central Indiana podcasters. I tried to start this about two years ago and just recently came back to it. | | Indianapolis Divorce Support | Another site (also ning-powered) that I inherited. It was either that or see a sizable chunk of my peer group sort of disband. | | IU Tekes | Alumni site for the fraters of Indiana University's TKE chapter. Mostly where we go to reminisce about our glory days and plan pub crawling reunion tours. | | Brightkite | I remember back in the day, when you wanted to stalk somebody, you had to get the phone book and buy a road map. Now we just post where we are and leave messages for potential assailants. | | Indy.com | Social network site for the elite of Indy's night-life | | 43 Things | Long-term planning and personal milestones. So far I've found my wife, finished my basement, improved my handwriting, and re-established my net presence from goals placed here. | | 43 Places | A list of places I've been and plan to go. Worth it just to get the inside scoop on what's cool and what's not, as well as where the best kept secrets are at your vacation spot. | | Good Reads | | | Lists of Bests | Things I plan to read, movies I plan to watch, CD's I plan to buy, etc. Essentially a massive list of what I'm consuming -- and some people pay for that information. | | Plaxo | Useful tool for keeping your myraid contacts and calendars centralized and synchronized between work, home, smartphone, and various and sundry web sites. | | Plaxo Calendar | The almost-complete calendar of where I am going to be and what I'm going to do. The only thing it lacks is my music schedule claendar. | | Linked In | Professional social networking. Essentially everybody I know that may be helpful to me on a professional level. | | Linking Indiana | I'm not actually an open networker, but I am a huge supporter of local communities and local content on the Internet (I mean, obviously, I own ten domains that start with 'Indy-'). | | Wish Radar | Handy little site for keeping tabs on your wishlist. Add items you want to watch for, and a price you want to pay, and WishRadar alerts you when it finds something you're looking for in your price range. | | Stickam | Videocasting service I mostly use to watch and participate in Twit Live, though I'm looking into the possibility of hosting Indy In-Tune this way. | | Launchcast | Remember when launch used to be cool? Before Yahoo bought it, changed it, and obscured all support for it? | | Plurk | Yet another microblogging site. A few more features than Twitter, but no usable RSS, no SMS, and no momentum ... yet. | | 43 People | A list of 43 people I'd like to meet, but probably never will. | | Fanboy Radio | Yes, I live and die by the words of Scott and Oliver | | Ask a Ninja | I look forward to killing you soon | | Comic Network | Yet another obligatory comic book social network | | Downtown Comics | Some people collect companies and hang out in country clubs. I collect comic books and hang out here. It's like porn for geeks. | | Garage Band | A great place to discover new music from artists that are super-talented but will probably never be recognized. | | Meetup.com | Decent site for hooking up with people who have similar interest and hobbies. If they didn't charge way to much to use it, it would be huge. | | Reverb Nation | Band presskits and music samples. Great site that doesn't get used nearly enough by upcoming artists. | | iLike | Social networking based on musical tastes. Send and receives recommendations. Listen to cool new stuff. If it had decent search capabilities, I'd never leave. | | Smaller Indiana | Social networking site for creative-types in Indiana | | Pandora | | | Jaiku | Strangely, though it is superior to Twitter in many ways, since nobody else uses it, what's the point? | | Bitterst Pillspace | All hail Dan Klass, our podcasting hero! | | Frappr | Does anybody remember Frappr? And if so, do they remember the point? | | Podcast Pickle | Gary Leland's podcast directory and social networking service. Great site, except that the data gets wiped periodically to alleviate scamming attempts. | | Spaces Live | As usual, Microsoft's foray into what's hip was unremarkable, and a few years too late. | | GoogleTalk | | | Profilactic | From the department of redundancy department. | | Yahoo 360 | So, has Yahoo! ever created anything that they didn't eventually lose interest in and stop maintaining shortly before it got completely overrun by spammers. | | Zoom Info | Completely worthless site that scans the internet at attempts to build a social networking profile for you without your permission. I only reluctantly signed on because they got my information terribly wrong. These days they charge your credit card to correct their errors. Nice. |
Offended? Exhilarated? Physically ill? Bored? Seek answers to deep-rooted
psychoses? Need to discuss the post-Crisis ramifications of Hawkman's ret-conned origins?
Fortunately the advanced technology of the information age, coupled with
the fact that I'm a total geek and can always be found on-line doing something
or other, allows you to get in touch with me almost instantly.
Professionally
Due to my current backlog of "side jobs" I am only available for security consulting, custom application development, web development, hardware/network maintenance, and other computer services if you have me on a paid retainer or existing contract. Sorry, but it's just not fair to my existing client base for me to take on any more work.
Socially
Feel free to network me at one of the following locations, just make sure you send a note along that you're a Lungbarrow/Indy In-Tune reader and not a low-life spambot.
Or try one of the following, more conventional methods...
 | * Due to the nature of owning a dozen different domains (and thus having a dozen different email addresses), the amount of spam I get in an hour pretty much makes email a completely worthless tool for contacting me. Therefore, if you insist on using this primitive, archaic communications method you will get best results if you use either the direct email form, or encrypt your message with my PGP Public Key. |
