The Aggregated Lifestream of Darrin Snider

The real-time, inane ramblings of a socially inept, 40-something, IT equivalent of a swiss army knife, blogger, podcaster, gamer, musician, wannabe novelist, movie nut, scifi fanboy, comic book afficionado, fledgling day trader, new media champion, and general cranky geek. Now updated hourly -- or better -- for your convenience and not intended to be interesting to anyone who doesn't know me personally (so don't bother pointing that out).

Tunage

To get the full experience, you really need to be jamming my kind of tunes as you read...

Open Letter to the Boys at Juicereceiver.com

Also sent to their support team this morning. I must be losing my touch. I was almost polite to them after such lousy treatment. I dunno, maybe I'm just tired, but that @#^*! login page just confounded me!

Can anybody diagnose the cryptic logfile errors this thing gives? Failing that, can anybody know a good alternative product that I haven't tried and hated yet?

Why exactly did people stop developing podcatchers anyway? Surely you didn't all throw up your hands and surrender to iTunes the minute it came out?

[Dear Juice Support Team]

After years of enjoying your product, my copy of Juice has suddenly stopped working ... and displays a "see log file" error. After uninstalling/reinstalling multiple times, I thought maybe I could find help on your support forum.

First off, frustrated that I can't ven READ the forum without registering -- so much for anonymity. Eventually, I decided to capitulate. However, after getting numerous "invalid confirmation code" errors, one "email has been banned" error (despite the fact that I'd never even BEEN to your web site before, much less posted anything that would get me banned), and finally "maximum number of registration attempts exceeded" errors, I have finally given up and will seek an alternative solution.

I consider myself to be of at least average intelligence ... I've got a computer science degree and all ... and have been registering for forums on-line longer than the average person ... but, honestly, have never had so many issues just trying to read a technical support forum. Just wanted to let you know that's one heck of a user-hostile and generally unusable site you've developed there.

Thanks for letting me vent,

Darrin Snider
