The real-time, inane ramblings of a socially inept, 40-something, IT equivalent of a swiss army knife, blogger, podcaster, gamer, musician, wannabe novelist, movie nut, scifi fanboy, comic book afficionado, fledgling day trader, new media champion, and general cranky geek. Now updated hourly -- or better -- for your convenience and not intended to be interesting to anyone who doesn't know me personally (so don't bother pointing that out).

Woah ...![]() No no no no no no no no no no no no no no NO! http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=36644 Honestly, it's bad enough we have to have bad TV shows and even worse movies revisted, but do they have to touch the classics?! Are these guys so afraid of losing money that they will take no risks and try nothing new!? I dealt with Spielberg's War of the Worlds, I'm suffering through the turdfest that is SciFi's "Flash Gordon," I'm undecided about the new "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," and I can safely say, I'm voting with my wallet on "The Day the One Stood Still -- Because He Can't Really Act" and staying home. Speaking of SciFi's "Flash Gordon:" Really, guys. Science Fiction is supposed to have a certain sense of wonder and escapism. Flash Gordon is one of the premiere fanchises in a particular flavor of the genre called: "campy space opera " -- you know, space ships, ray guns, square-jawed heroes who always get the girl, strange and wonderful alien planets, multi-episode story arcs, and "how's he gonna get out of this" cliffhangers. This episodic, directionless, pseudo-realistic, Earthbound thing you've put together just shows me that you guys have absolutely no clue about the fundamental heart and soul of a classic franchise you paid through the teeth for, which might as well be called "Stargate: Mongo."
